Streamlining Sales Operations: Utilizing Salesforce Inspector to Create and Modify Quotes

Prerequisites:

Creating a Prospect Account

  1. Log in to Salesforce:
  • Navigate to the Home screen.
  • Click on the “Accounts” tab in the main menu.

2. Create a Prospect Account:

  • Click “New” and select the Record type as “Prospect.”
  • Enter a unique name for the account.
  • Select the Account Executive, provide a phone number, and choose a Subsidiary company (e.g., ACV Enviro).
  • Select a Payment term (e.g., Net010).
  • Select the Billing Address and click “Save.”

3. Create Contacts for the Prospect Account:

  • Navigate to the account details, go to Related contacts, and click “New contact.”
  • Select the contact type, account name, first name, last name, email, and contact type.
  • Click “Save.”

4. Convert Prospect Account into Customer Account:

  • Navigate to the account details and click “Convert to customer.”
  • Enter the Estimated amount, select the Contact, and prefill Billing details.
  • Select other necessary information such as Customer category, Service center, PO number type, etc.
  • Click “Convert now.”

Creating a Sales Quote in Salesforce:

  1. Click on the Create Sales Quote/Order button:
  • Choose the document type (e.g., sales quote).
  • Disable the prevailing wages checkbox.
  • Click on the “Next Step” button.

2. Enter Order Information:

  • Fill in all mandatory fields.
  • Default status as “Pending” will be reflected.
  • Surcharge values will be prefilled from the database based on the selected surcharge type.
  • Choose the Quote type (e.g., Recurrence).
  • Click on the “Next Step” button.

3. Assumption & Condition:

  • Enable all radio buttons at the Standard Assumptions & Contingencies.
  • Check the specified checkbox regarding labor, vehicle, and equipment charges.
  • Click on the “Next Step.”

4. Billing Address:

  • Display all records from the customer details.
  • Click on the “Next Step.”

5. Site Information and Instructions:

  • Enter all mandatory fields in the Site Information page.
  • Enter all mandatory fields in the Instruction page.

6. Create a New Job Task:

  • Click on the “New Job Task” button.
  • Select the category and enter the mandatory fields.
  • Click on the “Create” button.

Modifying Sales Quote with Salesforce Inspector:

Now that the quote is created, Salesforce Inspector can be used to make modifications:

  1. Navigate to the Salesforce page with the sales quote you want to modify.
